Sheffield
1900-1919

Henry Chambers married Hephzibah Higgitt in 1852. Hephzibah’s father, William Higgitt lived at Tinsley Park Colliery until retiring. The 1861 Census lists him as retired at Higgitt’s Houses, Attercliffe Common. In 1871 he was living at Tinsley Road. He died in 1875 at Prospect House, Attercliffe Common. The pictured house could be in one of these areas, although the 1910 date does not fit the life of William Higgitt.

It has also been suggested that the house could be at the bottom of Yew Lane.

The photograph may well be incorrectly captioned, dated or both. The house location and connection with William Higgitt (if any) is unknown.
